drift_bear
I know some people on here have made coffee tables from old engines before, im going to do the same with my old RB26 i have sitting and was wanting some advice and input in what all i will need to do it and how much work it is. Will also need to find somewhere to source the glass from but thats not untill the end Thanks in advance
ripped_fear
get it sand blasted may be the quickest option, if not get scrubbing with lots of hard core chemicals (thats what im going to do) you could use perspex for the top instead of glass too. Another thing im planning Good luck mate!
kitch79
I got these to make me a mirror to my exact spec, size, shape holes etc. http://creativeglass.co.uk/ Not sure if the hand deliver or would post. Thankfully for me it's only 4 mile away! If the can't I'm sure they'd know others in the business near abz.
samdale
I'm currently trying to make one from a crank plus bits. A kind of 'inverse' engine block coffee table. For glass I kept looking on local Gumtree for a coffee table with a glass top. Keep glass, junk the rest. I'd say mine is A2 sized and cost me a fiver. A single sheet of toughened glass was quite expensive.
drift_bear
Cheers for the input guys, I'll give it a good go with some old fashioned elbow grease before going down the sandblasting route. I have a rough idea what I want it to look like, just hope it turns out the way it hope

Al Massey
Don't waste your time with elbow grease if it goes to the sand blasters lol
Guest Sir Diffsalot
I made one from a 1uz, sandblasted the block then clearcoated it to prevent corrosion, got glass from a local glass place, about €80 as far as i remember for the glass

drift_bear
I thought that old RB26 Engine was in good working order still? It's lying in bits and has been for nearly a year now. I've had no interest or anything on it so just gonna make it into a table, always wanted one anyway lol
