Guest Rsb
Hi, The 12v cig socket doesn't work so I have ordered a new part and am contemplating fitting it myself which (I assume) means removing the dash. Might also be an opportunity to clean the plastics. I've read a bit from American forums on some pitfalls but would very much appreciate the advise on the procedure from you all? Many thanks. marbleapple
Hi. Go to the technical section of the forum. There is a thread with pictures. Step by step. It's dead easy. Surprisingly so. Screws and clips.
Scooter
I can't find the how to to post a link, but the start is 5 phillips screws at the top of the instruments, get you head by the steering wheel and look up at the top of the dash. Worth finding a good fitting phillips head for these. Once they are out its a tease away from the top job and they'll be a few electrical clips to disconnect. NB when you have these bits disconnected do not turn the ignition on as you will get the airbag or abs light (can't remember which!) permanently on (not the end of the world to sort but some hassle) Once other panels are removed you can reconnect this top section to use the ignition and test the lighter etc Then I think the others all unclip. For the one you want to access, lift of the gear surround section (all clips just be careful and tease them off) and disconnect the ashtray light underneath to remove. I thread specific to your issue http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?224813-Cigarette-lighter-not-working&highlight=cigarette+lighter
