SMW
Hope somebody can help. I'm trying to replace the plugs with the Denso's I got from Alex the other week. Got the cover off then removed two 10mm screws which seem to retain the coil pack (is that what it's called?) which sits over eah plug. What do I do next though? Can't see the top of the old plug even though it seems to be loose. Did a quick search but can't find anything which helps. Help please!!

SMW
I hadn't pulled very hard on the coil packs for fear of breaking something but I've got them off now. Thanks Martin.

SMW
I remember someone telling me that they do not get their hands dirty And how I wish I'd stuck to that:) Had the day off and just made a spur of the moment decision to fit them. Only took me about 4 hours in total!! Think I'll do a single turbo conversion next week:D
Supra ST Myster
Just about to change mine, are the coil packs the x6 ones with two positive screws holding them down? Do you have to remove the wireing going along the top of them before trying to remove the screws or can it be done with it there? cheers
Willson
The coil packs are in 2s. ie 3 sets of 2. each set has a bolt (10mm?) at each end. just unplug the wires on the top, unbolt the coilpacks and wiggle a bit as you lift out. P*ss. Some people unscrew each coil from the pack but it is not the preferred way (by vast majority of people)
Steve Cargill
Be careful with the clips, some them on mine have got broken which means they could disconnect and one of the connectors had been put on the wrong way around causing a rough idle and possibly other running problems. Supra ST Myster
Hi I have the coil packs off now, but how do you get the blue rubbery bits off to get to the spark plug to unscrew???
Alex
They should have come off with the coil packs!
Supra ST Myster
yeah i know that now cheers... After i posted this i spoke to toyota as i ordered something from them and mentioned this and they said the same thing, should of come out with the coil pack, out of all six, only 1 came out with the coil pack, i managed to get the others out in the end, managed to get a pair of long nose pliers and run it down either side of the spark plug then strech out the pliers and also lift up, after a few attempts they came out! HKS ones in now and running fine so far!
Supe
Hi, just took one of my old spark plugs out today, which were the Denso PK20R 11. You guys think that the connector plug will cause a problem, I removed it really slow but it kind off fell apart Here's some pics of the plug as well: Just add, can I put the coil pack the wrong way around or is it same both ways ?
