cool3boy
thinking to put a v8 engine on my n/a mkiv just wonder to ask 1uz-fe 1uz-fe vvti or 3uz-fe which one is better thank you
Wez
Apparently the 1uz-fe is the strongest, depends on your power goal, I decided on a 3uz-fe
el_bandido
3uz is vastly superior in every way if you're after an NA engine. I am going for the 3uz and I would still go for that if I wanted FI as well, but you'd have to spend money.

el_bandido
There is an ls3 and t56 box on eBay right now...
ashloys
The non VVTi 1UZ-FE is the best engine if you wish to boost/supercharge it in the future. The VVTi 1UZ-FE is the easier/cheaper option if you wish to stay NA. More parts available, engines are far easier come by and easier to fit. It’s still 290bhp 300ft/lb! 3UZ-FE is the best engine if you wish to stay NA but less common, more expensive and harder to fit. The choice is yours
el_bandido
Why is the 3uz harder to fit? It's got all the same issues as the vvti 1uz.
Wez
Why is the 3uz harder to fit? It's got all the same issues as the vvti 1uz. Mounting should be the same as the adapter plates etc should be the same.
David P
There's an LS430 4.3 litre V8 engine going for a song that no-one bid on here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-LEXUS-LS430-4-3-VVTI-1UZ-FE-ENGINE-/172344228782?ul_noapp=true&nma=true&si=TCc6fvVbH%252FII%252BXQBjtdMbTa1mGI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Nodalmighty
LS engine? Yes Indeed. No need for gearbox adaptor kits, Tremec T56 or TR6060 straight bolt on. Seriously huge amount of tuning parts and an ls3 with a medium cam and a set valve springs will make over 500bhp and about the same torque from about 2.5k (and hold it till about 6k) whats not to like (apart from the fuel bill ). Wez
The LS engines cost a bit more than a UZ lump.
Nodalmighty
The LS engines cost a bit more than a UZ lump. I should Coco, a crate LSX is £8600. A 1uz is about £
