a98pmalcolm
Ok so I noticed I have lots of oil residue coming from around the gear box causing drips. I have never done one these before, is it a regular area, how simple is it to sort and is there a gasket involved or sealant? Thanks Paul
Rob W
Can't you take off the small inspection plate on the side of the box to have a better look? Maybe rear main oil seal? Sometimes the cam cover seals can be leaking and dripping down the back which makes it look like the box.
mwilkinson
I would first check the cam cover seals too.

MattP
Does look like cam covers weaping down the back of the block onto the box. The top of the box is wet and the bottom looks allot drier as if it's coming from above as opposed to leaking from the bottom. No pun intended
ManwithSupra
I would clean all that mess up first as it would be hard to see anything on where its coming from. Get some brake cleaner and wash all that old oil off use a brush to get the really sticky thick parts, go for a drive and then take another look to see what the deal is.
