Action Jackson
Jackbox Party is brilliant! Nidhogg is also a good laugh. I'll drop the tone very quickly to touch on a phone app called Heads Up. Pick a category and words are displayed on your phone realted to that category. Person holding the phone can't see it their partner has to describe the word to them. Can be a good drinking game if numbers are good. You have just reminded me of an amazing mobile phone game called "Space Team" - its a 4 player communication game where you all have a different set of controls and one instruction to give out to the other players within a time limit. Very loud, very funny and another great game to do after a few beers. Completely free as well!

ozz
I'm playing Rimworld on the PC at the moment. I've put 42 hours into it so far. It's a management game where you control some survivors who have crashed on a planet. Every unit has randomized traits and skills meaning they're good at some tasks but not others, and all have their little personality quirks which means you have to manage them properly. When you start the game you can choose a position on a map in different biomes which all have their own challenges for even more variety. You grow food, hunt animals, build stuff and fight off various raids from tribes and pirates or random events like heatwaves and try to keep your units from dying or going crazy. The difficulty scales depending on how advanced your colony is so it gives you a chance to get established. Eventually you can build a spaceship and escape the planet but I think it's more fun to just play on forever until I get bored of that specific colony. Easy enough on the lesser difficulties and when everything is going well, you can focus on expanding your base and setting up defences, but when things go wrong they can get really bad very quickly. It's definitely possible to have everybody die in a single raid and having to reload (or start a new colony on permadeath mode). It's still in alpha but is good for what it is - I haven't encountered any bugs so far but there is some lack of variety and once you've built up your base and got to a stable position it runs out of steam a little. The UI can be a little clunky and confusing at times but hopefully this will be improved on in future. There are a lot of mods available for it if you want a change from the vanilla experience. I'd rate it 4/5. Rimworld was great - though as you said once you get established it's a bit boring. I'll come back to it once they update it again. I'm into retro style graphics at the moment - Broforce is worth checking out for nostalgia reasons, its awesome! I also just got I think its The Last Station, nice easy to play game. 7 days to die was pretty awesome once you get into it - but the fun drops off quickly after a while. Looking forward to more content. I also just bought Halacon 6, another retro style game and surprisingly fun.
foggy147
Just pre ordered the Playststion VR headset. Cannot wait, I have no previous experience of VR so very excited to see what's involved. Hopefully some good games come out for it. Although I like the fact it can be used as a TV for playing normal games. COD 4 on a cinema size screen with some surround sound headphones on sounds good to me haha!! Richie_k83
I have just started playing on my xBox one again after a few months off... All I play is Battlefield online though. I used to be a die hard Call of duty fan, but the brand is just a cash making machine with a new game every 6 months and DLC etc etc, just annoys me now lol. Fortunately, my wife is more of a gamer than me, so i get away with playing it as and when, even with the kids about lol
k222bye
Hi mate Sounds like a good idea. Ive also ordered a htc vive and just completed my set up. Spent a few quid on my gaming pc. Think game reviews would be a good idea! Forza horizon 3 was just released on PC. I mainly play car games. VR can be really nauseating if you're not used to it so just giving you a heads up! Pictures of build and need for speed.
Action Jackson
The vive is awesome but its only really usable in small doses - I find that while games are fun on it, it still cant help but feel like a novelty. I played a few games with the hand wand things, which were good fun. Games that were "made" for the Vive - granted it is cool and the experience is incredibly immersive. But I also played "Keep talking and nobody explodes" with the headset on and Xbox controller. That was probably my favourite experience with the Vive as it separated the bomb diffuser and manual holder without needing to have them physically separated. Of course the immersion was excellent. Yeah i think thats why im getting it to be honest. Just to experience it. I want to play GTA 5 with a VR headset on. Haha. The biggest drawback for the vive is the price. VR as a whole is still a novelty. Hopefully it becomes more mainstream and cheaper.

I have a few friends working in indy studios and theyre all thinking about how to integrate their games more with VR. I can't justify the outlay for a Vive just yet, but I can be it being something that ill get eventually

TomWeight
I was super excited for Assetto Corsa but I rented it on Xbox One a couple of weeks back and it might be one of the worst racing games I've ever played! They're getting a little arcadey these days but it still seems to be if you want a racing game on console, it has to be Forza for the Xbox One and Gran Turismo for the PS4. A different avenue for racing games though if you're interested is the new F1 game. Very good!

Will have a look at that My go to racing game is still Project Cars atm. supra_ufo
I currently cannot wait for the MW remake, I have hated every one since MW2 as it has gotten stupid with all of the jumping about etc. So can't wait to get back onto this online for some search and destroy. Looking forward to FF15 as I love the RPG type games, although none come close to FF7/Xenogears. Modern Warefare?
evinX
Got MAFIA III today, very impressed so far, always been a lover of open world games and so far its really good, loads of videos on youtube, im having fun with it so far. Next on my list is Watch dogs 2, had MAFIA II and for its day the graphics was really good, the beginning with the snow was really good fun and then changed later in on the game. Watch dogs 1 was a really good game to, open world, not as detailed as GTA V or MAFIA III but still alot of fun.

Hitbox Junkie
I'm currently playing arma 3 exile zombie mod on the pc. There are about 5 of us that play using team speak to communicate and it's a great. Need to have tactics when fighting other players (50man server) dealing with the zombies and killing the Ai at random missions. Also difference in fight's using vehicles land and air as well as being on foot. Different range weapons silenced Un silenced. Heavy machine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles. j_jza80
This Space Hulk: Deathwing that's due out in November looks great they seem to have taken a lot of inspiration from Doom 3, which was brilliant. https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=6ypnCcdk14s

Excited to try it out as I haven't tried any of the headsets so will be going in blind! I have been close to pre-ordering it a few times now but I think I'm going to try and leave it a few months to see what the first impressions are. The first generation of a new hardware release is always a bit of a gamble IMO. Let us know what you think!

foggy147
Will post up my thoughts after I get my hands on it. I figured worst case if I absolutely hate it and it ends up being sat there doing nothing, running up to xmas there would be no issue selling it on! I'm hoping the cinema mode is useful as I do like the idea of just using it to play normal games, especially the MW remake due out. Also apparently they are bringing out some David attenborough documentarys which would be really cool in VR. I think there is good potential but all depends on how well supported it is. My exact thoughts, people are pre-ordering and wont see them still end of November! I was lucky enough to be the 1st of the 2nd wave of people so mine has come in. The demand is massive, I have pre paid to collect it straight away at midnight, and I'm number 105, and thats from Sunday and just Bedfords Game Store.
