Anyone driven Rockingham and/or been on their Experience day?

Got a cheeky corporate invite to this tomorrow and cannot wait. I did the Palmer Motorsport one a few years back and it was awesome.

Anyone driven round Rockingham before on a hard track day or been on this mixed driving experience ?

Any tips for the track? It is supposedly the fastest circuit in Europe so should be able to go flat out in a few places :D

Good practice for myself Oulton Park day on 4th :)

Cheers

Greg

Their claim to "fastest circuit in Europe" is in reference to their NASCAR circuit! Their infield is tight and twisty, there are plenty of circuits which are faster in the UK I am sure.

Flipping love Rockingham though, nice technical infield that is forgiving in the right places too.

As for tips, when on the "international" layout (when you use part of the ring as turns 1 + 2) compromise the entry to the last 3-corner chicane thingy. Do everything you can to get a good, fast run out of the final corner as you can do turn 1 flat out in most cars if you hit it right - meaning you can hit some pretty ludicrous speeds before slamming on the brakes for the hairpin!

Oh if its wet, it is HYPER slippery. Like seriously slippery. I have had an off at gracelands before (along with many others) because of the camber change as you go over the crest of the hill. Pair that up with wet slippery goodness and you end up with me sitting in the cat litter :D

There you go mate. That video is my first and only time to Rockingham. You can carry a lot more speed than you think, check the early part of the video vs the later for proof.

Great track and I'm back on the 22/10.

Thanks mate good man. Looks pretty quick.

You`ve been round Rockingham with me before? 2008/9, i wouldn`t say its the fastest in europe though, Silverstone is generally much faster then of course there`s the Ring!, what cars are you driving bud?

That rings a bell but honestly can't remember. Didn't we do Silverstone? Driving a few supercars, ariel atom, some Nascar equivalent and a F3 style single seater. Think there's a couple of others too. Can't wait.

Haha thank you for the advice mate. It will probably be wet tomorrow so good to know. I'll be studying Johnny's video like Cool Runnings tonight!
