Suprakeith
Hi am looking at sorting my boot lid as have the dreaded rust at bottom of window. Been looking at getting carbon boot lid and was wondering can I fit the glass rear window into carbon boot please?

Mk4Gaz
No reason why not, if it's moulded properly
Kendo11
No idea, I know the genuine carbon bootlids you can buy have plexi rear windows rather than glass. I'd be worried bout that glass being too heavy for the carbon lid, and how you'd mount it.
Mk4Gaz
The glass will install in the same way it does with a steel tailgate. The reason people predominantly replace the glass for acrylic, is because they probably want to save weight. If you want a carbon tailgate for aesthetics, then the glass should go in without problems. The only thing I will say, is it will need to be a good quality part. I've seen too many aftermarket panels that are very flimsy - bonnets in particular
JamieP
Don't get a seibon, they fit like crap. I had one on the black beast and the gaps are huge.
Suprakeith
It was a seibon one I was looking at, what other companies make carbon boot for the supra? ripped_fear
If your planning on getting it painted then be warned, the weave will show though the paint, and will never be as good of a finish. Last time i checked toyota they were only 450 new (last year granted) Edited September 19, 2016 by ripped_fear (see edit history)

JamieP
Don't get a seibon, they fit like crap. I had one on the black beast and the gaps are huge. I know knightracer get some flack here but I fitted there carbon doors and they was perfect. I'd give Albert a call as when he saw how bad fitment was on the Seibon he mentioned building some tailgates.
