Big Mark
I was thinking over the weekend - Rather than using a Toucan would there be any way of connecting a Syvecs to a touch screen Double Din stereo instead and have full functionality? a98pmalcolm
Theres a bluetooth module that you can get. That offers the same function as a toucan screen with an android or apple device
Big Mark
Does it work as good as a Toucan? So would it work harmoniously with this (link)?
Style
Could do a tablet install like the one that's in the ICE section and run a Bluetooth tablet connection to the Syvecs?
Big Mark
No. I'll be installing the stereo in the link, so want to know if that can be used. Zero interest in fitting a tablet.
Wez
Which stereo is it?
Big Mark
Click the "link" in post #
Guest Budz86
Can't see that working unless you can download apps to the stereo as you need the syvecs app to connect via Bluetooth and view/control the ecu
Al Massey
No that headunit wont work as it only pairs for music and video via Bluetooth to your phone.

I keep my music on memory sticks/cards. or play CD's.
Wez
There is an Android version available that was built to work with phones and tablets I do recall someone else tried to run it on an Android based head unit but not sure how successful that was. Jellybean
What about using a Chromecast via HDMI on your head unit , bluetooth to your phone, cast to the head unit?
Wez
What about using a Chromecast via HDMI on your head unit , bluetooth to your phone, cast to the head unit? Not tried that or the Apple equivalent myself, I am guessing its some form or screen mirroring?
Jellybean
Not tried that or the Apple equivalent myself, I am guessing its some form or screen mirroring? Yep Mirror the app on the screen ; it is inexpensive compare to a Toucan , not too sure if the Syvecs integrates with other digital gauge apps , some very nice UX designed Gran Tursimo PS4 style apps out there, do all wonderful analysis with graphs and scatter, radar charts
Big Mark
You lost me at "What about using a Chromecast via HDMI on your head unit , bluetooth to your phone, cast to the head unit?". I have zero interest in smart phones, apps and all the other crap associated with them. So if there's no simple way to use the screen on a stereo then I'll just get a toucan or the rotary calibration knob: Nice analogue twiddly knob and not a wanky app in site. Al Massey
it is inexpensive compare to a Toucan , Except the cost of the Bluetooth module from syvecs
