My 93 mk4 na-t in the making. Transmission options?

Picked up my 1 owner 93 mk4 about a month ago. unfortunately it is an NA Auto... HOWEVER, i am building an na-t (goals of 600) and have almost my complete setup minus EMU also almost have a complete tranny swap minus the clutch and flywheel. My original plan was to run my auto box until it explodes, however lurking the forums recently, from what I've heard that will not take much! I had a spare 2j laying around and swapped a buddy for a known good w58 trans. I planned on swapping that in after my auto box but again, from what I've heard this also isn't a viable option! My question to you guys is, whats my next choice and what would you do? Should i run the auto box until she blows then proceed with my w58 swap or not waste my time? What are my other options? T56? r154? Another possible solution would be using the oem a340e built with a shift kit. No clue which way to go guys

Personally I wouldn't waste time running transmissions that you know you're going to destroy within a few hundred miles of abuse. You could get a little bit of cash back from them if they're working for starters.

 

You could go for a built auto with flappy pedals if that's what you would prefer? Or if you would like to go manual then there's a few options that you seem to have covered. T56 is an option that is growing in popularity. A good condition v160/1 box will be quite hard to find in the US I'd imagine and overpriced for what they are. R154's might be a bit easier to source though and cheaper since there seems to be a lot more MK3's in the states than over here. There's been mention of BMW boxes being used as well but I'm yet to see a well ratio'd one on the road. JamieP on here has installed a 6-700hp 2JZ into his M3 BMW and is using a BMW transmission. So would maybe be good to see how he gets on with that over the next few weeks/months.
