Homer
The lights have gone out on these 3 items and controls are not working. Weirdly when I turn the lights on there is some illumination of the heater buttons (I guess they're on a different circuit) I have checked the interior fuses and can't see any of them are blown, but I'm sure I'm missing something obvious. Are there any quick thoughts before I start taking it apart and swapping bits out? TIA!
Scooter
A possible non fuse cause in this thread, worth a check http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?56359-No-Heater-controls-No-Clock-No-Ciggy-Lighter&highlight=lighter+fuse
Homer
Thanks mate, I'll go and check for loose wires!
Homer
Couldn't find any loose wires but reseated all the sockets. I did find that the two wires to the cig lighter had melted slightly and were touching (probably over use of a tyre compressor), so this seems to be the likely cause. I'll re-check the fuses tomorrow.

Homer
Dimmer switch working? That was the "I must be missing something" thing that I couldn't remember!!! I'll have a look at that tomorrow, thanks Kev.
Homer
It was the fuse (caused by a melted cig lighter wire). Numb nuts here was checking the wrong fuse.
Sheefa
Glad it's sorted mate I fitted my heater dial plates this eve and my heater temp illumination has stopped working, everything else is fine. Going to have to check fuses too tomorrow.
Homer
Check the bulb at the back mate, they're twist-in and can be dislodged when fiddling with the units. If the rest of the unit is lit it won't be a fuse. Each dial has it's own bulb so my money is on that
Delboy52
Check the bulbs themselves also. They must be over 20 years old by now if never changed. Found many of mine had all bite the dust on a spare heater unit I've had to install recently.
