Guest Poopra1
I have a 95 JDM Supra tt 6 speed. Im looking for some info from people that have had some experience with Greddys EMU. I installed a Greddy EMU onto a wiring harness adaptor (making my own PNP harness) by following http://mkiv.com/techarticles/emanage/index.html There is still one plug that is not mentioned in this install guide. It is connector "C". To make this simple ill just ask..is this connector needed in order to tune the 2jzgte? Thanks in advance Nick
Tricky-Ricky
Well to start with that link is for the emanage blue, and your talking about the ultimate, also not at all sure what you mean by connector "C" the EMU has three multi pin connectors labelled 12P 14P and 18P. Guest Poopra1
Well to start with that link is for the emanage blue, and your talking about the ultimate, also not at all sure what you mean by connector "C" the EMU has three multi pin connectors labelled 12P 14P and 18P. The install is exactly the same for either unit aside from this "C" Connector "12P 14P 18P" i have no idea where that comes from, even the instructions have them labelled as A, B and C connector. So ill ask that anyone with experience with the EMU please chime regarding this final connector. Ill be installing it regardless but i would like to hear from some one with experience with this system.
Tricky-Ricky
I have installed and mapped several EMUs, and now i have had a quick look at the EMU manual i see what you mean http://www.greddy.com/upload/file/Ultimate_Install.pdf And the install is not the same! Anyway you will need to connect "C" as its used for the injector outputs and the crank angle signal, so you wont get correct ignition signals without, and you will also not be able to use the injector adjustment....but hey what do i know. Actually if you don't mind me asking. Which would be more important to know for tuning/data logging? Knock or intake and water temp?. Im having to pick either knock 1 and 2 or Intake and Water temp for this last connector.
Tricky-Ricky
Knock would be my choice, you can always add a cheap IAT sensor and gauge if you need it, the EMU doesn't do IAT enrichment, and you have a coolant temp gauge. You will need to remove fuel at the top end if staying std turbos, as the std ECU will run things very rich.
Guest Poopra1
Great thank you. One more question, whats the difference between ADD only and TRIM/ADD when wiring in the injectors ( i have an idea but clarification would be great)...currently i have it wired ADD only. Its on page 15 of the EMU install instructions. Nick Edited September 5, 2016 by Poopra1 (see edit history)

Nick Add only means you can only add fuel IE injector duty cycle, but if you also want to reduce the amount of fuel you need to wire for both trim/add, which on the std setup is necessary.
