Chris Wilson
Just tried to price a heater matrix and my trusty local main agent says 87107-14190 is no longer available, UK, Europe or Japan! Anyone know of anywhere with stock? Thanks.
trebor69
I know its not OEM but if you're stuck....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-Mk4-heater-matrix-NEW-promotional-price-/162022909784?fits=Model%3ASupra&hash=item25b9516758:m:mHMTgKQj200Whuq0yvi8mgw

Frank Bullitt
I assume the US heater matrix will be a different design to ours as the part number differs on the EPC. Could the company that makes your SMIC's help with making a replacement heater matrix?
Chris Wilson
I would imagine the LHD cars have a different heater box and matrix. I will ask them, but it would be costly, a lot more than a new one from Toyota due to the low volume and hand production. Wheteher they have access to the fine tube cores i don't know. The Supra IC cores are brazed up especially to meet the very thick OE core depth and use modern core tubes. That's why they need to do 4 at once to make it worthwhile getting the vacuum brazing oven set up.
TheTurtleshead
Heard good thins about the demisterman ones... Apparently a fraction of the toyota price as well!
Frank Bullitt
I'm sure there would be considerable interest, it's going to fail sooner rather than later. I was hoping to pick one up and change it over the winter months as part of preventative maintenance so would certainly be interested if you could force them to do a batch for a decent price
Mike2JZ
I've got a demisterman one in mine, no issues so far.

Yep Mr T was asking £450+ I've got a demisterman one in mine, no issues so far. What is the build quality like any pictures? What is fitment like? How long has it been fitted? Mike2JZ
Yep Mr T was asking £450+ What is the build quality like any pictures? What is fitment like? How long has it been fitted? Well it's basically a water radiator, it felt ok didn't feel cheap, was in much better state than the matrix coming out. Been in since year and a half with no problems. I noticed it was a bit thinner than oem, but it fitted.
Dnk
Does it perform as well as the OE ? i thought i read that they didn't put out anything near the heat of the stock unit
Dnk
I wonder if a matrix from another Toyota model would be similar and still available
Frank Bullitt
I found this image on Google, does anyone know if this is an OEM unit vs the demisterman version?
James
I found this image on Google, does anyone know if this is an OEM unit vs the demisterman version? I took that picture That is indeed OEM vs Demisterman. The Demisterman one was alright, didn't get up to temp as quick, nor did it get just as hot. Chris Wilson
If you look at the core of the none genuine one it's nothing like as dense, either tube or fin wise as the OE one. Hence it won't exchange as much heat from the water, of which there's less at any given moment, than the genuine one. but if you can't get `em.... mwilkinson
Look into having some made Chris. I'd buy one.

Jellybean
Amayama have none which is not generally a good sign :-( I couldnt get any OEM coilpacks off them either , even though they indicated UAE and Japan had them in Stock
Chris Wilson
I am doing a matrix for someone shortly, I'll send the old one over to my IC makers and see what they think. I forewarned them today and heard much Germanic sucking of teeth
Mike2JZ
Feel free to come check out my heater if you ever see me, in winter is boiling in the car. So oem or not, it does the job
David P
Whilst my dash was out upgrading to looms with cruise control and active spoiler, for means of preventative maintenance I swapped the matrix for a demisterman unit. It will keep your feet dry, but they'll never be warm again.
mwilkinson
Any update Chris? I've also discovered that OEM air condensors are no longer available and there isn't much stock worldwide for the 477-0589. I can't find one anywhere. evinX
Cant you just get them re-cored?
Chris Wilson
I will be looking into having high efficiency matrices made by the people who do my intercoolers, but it will be a few weeks away. It's not cost effective to try and re-use the old end tanks.
mwilkinson
I look forward to hearing an update. The intercooler is a work of art so I've high expectations for a heater matrix.
