Bobbeh
Anyone have these on their Supra or have tried them? I'm dusting the cobwebs off mine (literally) and need a full set of tyres replacing and was looking at Michelin as they've been quality on my other car. I know Pilot sports have always had a good rep, wondered if anyone has used these particular models more recently?
el_bandido
I'm using ps4's on the Lexus and they are excellent. Fully intend to go for the super sports when I swap the wheels on the Supra.
hogmaw
I have PS4 all round, thumbs up from me, very grippy but can be noisy too
Bobbeh
Thanks guys. Hey Gerald, not overly fussed about noise, I dont think I'll spending too much time in it, just want decent grippy quality tyres that might have to endure trips to Le Mans and the Ring
Scooter
Bobbeh good to hear you are planning on giving her a run out! I'm considering uni Royal rain sport 3's, good reviews and half old Goodyear Eagle f1 looking, half continental contact sport looking! Reckon the michelins will be good though. Scooter
I got my first clay bar and rotary polisher thingy a few months back, time consuming process but good fun and essential on a red one, never been a real deep cleaner type but warming to it more these days. Burna
Never heard of the Sport 4's, but I'll be going Super Sports next time.
Style
PS4's here as well, no complaints. They're great in all weather
Bobbeh
Cheers guys. Ian, thanks for the offer but I'm looking for these in particular, just wanted some comments/reviews. Burna, I think they came out last year. According to Michelin the PS4's are better then the Super Sports and wear better - its probably what I'll go for. Scooter - yes mate, its a nice feeling when you have a clayed and polished car in front you.. and then in my case, 5 mins later its covered in dust! lol
Fitz
Ive used Super Sports on my car and am going to go same again with the new wheels.
Burna
Sound like the new PS4's are the new king of tyres! http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4.htm
Hassan
Ive used the PS3 on my car before 305/25/19 and i hated them. On the limit they are very unpredictable and just snap traction. Then i went to Kumho KU39 (michelin dealers recommendation) and i have never looked back ever since. Ive used them on My Supras,Aristos,Lexus LS460 and Merc AMG CLS55 with 580BHP 620ft With out any issues what so ever. Best tyre ive ever used and ive tried the lot. Burna
Apparently they are an update on the Super Sports, so I'll be going for the PS4's for sure, thanks Bobbeh. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/91858/michelin-pilot-sport-4-review - - - Updated - - - Ive used the PS3 on my car before 305/25/19 and i hated them. Ive tried all Top branded tyres on all kinds off cars and i would never ever use anything but Kumho KU39 thats just my personal opinion. I was starting to get under-steer around the Spa roads, where he just gripped on Super Sports.
Hassan
That's exactly where the kumho is tested on the track by many GT3s and M3s etc etc thats another reason why i wanted to try it.
Bobbeh
Hassan that's a fair enough point. I've had mixed experiences with tyres, GY EF1's were great, Pirellis I have now, not bad but not great in wet, Toyo Proxies, good all round and good value. I wonder if the fact the tyres you tested were 25 profile were part of the snappy grip issue. That's not a great deal of sidewall for road driving! SPG
Bobbeh I have just purchased a set of PS4's all round, will be testing them out on our annual Applecross run up the highlands, so should have some decent feedback once I'm back . Love the tread pattern on these
fastcar
Have the Yokohama V105 all round on the supra! Can't rate them enough, great in the dry and wet conditions have used plenty of the big brand names with Pirelli being the worse.
Bobbeh
Found out they dont do PS4's in the sizes i need for the fronts, but do for the rears so going with PS2's up front and PS4's on back. What sizes are you guys running?
