Jellybean
Anybody running Denso Coilpacks? (673-1200 Direct Ignition Coil) Toyota want 140 euro each versus 50-60 euro each via the US Might bite the bullet and get new ones , no issues but they are 23 years old
j_jza80
Denso make the Toyota ones. I'm running Denso ones on mine, they look exactly the same as stock, and work perfectly. Just avoid the cheap Chinese lookalikes that are all over eBay.

Jellybean
Denso makes the OEM coilpacks! It's the same as the Toyota ones. I know , but not the question I asked ! I was looking for members experiences with them, reliability,You may get slight discrepancies in fitment ; I also read sometimes these are "B" rated parts. Factory O.E. gets A, and for whatever reason, in quality control parts sold with the Toyota sanded off didn't meet standards. Its always good to spend 5 mins checking than wasting 300 GBP Edited August 18, 2016 by Jellybean (see edit history)

j_jza80
How much were yours J and where did you order from? Can't remember how much, they were less than half what Toyota were asking though. We only have 3 on the vvti cars, and they're the same as used on the VVTI GS300 which is what mine were advertised as. Seem to think matt_rr tried to buy an extra set and the seller had run out though.

j_jza80
Mine original vvti ones still had Denso stamped on them.

A facelift, non vvti car uses exactly the same coilpack setup as pre facelift
harryww89
Got my replacements from Rockauto, great service, all legitimate Denso items with the Toyota shaved away, no issues on my car what so ever.

j_jza80
Sorry my bad , I taught all facelift are vvti /QUOTE] There was a crossover period between 96 and early 97 where the facelift cars had the non vvti engine and V160 gearbox.
