Mac Srt
Hi all quite new to this forum, just wondering what upgrades are available for the 3.0 na engines. Is it possible to "upgrade" a non turbo car easily to a twin turbo or is it simply not worth it ? Like most I would like a single or tt but looking at how many nice non turbo cars out there is it worth looking at a na and upgrading it? Thanks Mac
mc92
You can turbo an NA, a lot of people do. It can be expensive to do properly, especially if you're going for high power. Whifbitz do a kit and there are budget basement options like Xspower which some people use. It's good to think about what your goals are, what parts you'll need to replace and whether that justifies putting several thousand pounds into an NA over starting with a TT (especially with how much TT6s are atm). There are plenty of threads with NA-T builds on here to get an idea of what parts people are using, here's one with a basic guide: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?279627-FOSTA-S-how-to-fit-a-basic-NA-T-kit
jcbt
Upgrading an na to turbo will work out dearer in the long run than just buying a TT to start with so best bite the bullet and pay the extra up front. Also it will be worth more on resale value. If you really want to go the single route look for one that has already been done as it costs on average another £10k over the purchase cost of a TT to convert to a decent spec single. Mac Srt
Thanks for the info ! I will do some more research and see if I can get hold of a nice tt6 first.
