Dnk
I really do love trying to buy a used car, its almost as much fun as Russian roulette Just looked at a L322 Range Rover thats being sold with a mileage discrepancy. I popped the reg onto the mot check and it looks like 100,000 miles has disapeared lol

First thing I do now if the reg is shown in an add of a car I like. 100k is rather a large chuck to vanish mind ha
Chris Wilson
They'll probably blame it on Brexit.....
stevie_b
Buying 2nd hand gearboxes is proving like roulette for me. I've sunk £2k so far into getting a nicely-working W58 in my car.

Funny how every used Supra manual gearbox is off a low mileage car...
Dnk
My latest find but only a few miles missing this time, a supercharged Range Rover MOT'd on DEC 11th 2015 with 68,224, it had done 75,016 on 11th DEC 2012 !!
Chris Wilson
Sometimes, given their transmission "issues" reverse is the only option, but the owner must have either been excellent driving in his mirrors or had a stiff neck

Tyson
Advertised as a 1 owner with FLRSH what happens when a plate is moved from one vehicle to another ? How does that affect what is shown in the mot history ?
kitch79
Nothing really. The old mot Certs aren't changed, and the online history just continues. ie doing an mot history check on its current plate will give you all the mot back till when it first started going online whether it's had 20 regs plates or one. Scooter
It retains the history of the car not the reg, so bar the usual few admin/computer glitches that can happen it should be accurate regardless of the previous changes.
Chris Wilson
The records follow the VIN plate number, not the registration number, I think
ianhid
Yep, my supra has had more than one plate on it but I get the full history going back if I search on just the current plate. Mine's had some milage 'variance' it would seem, went from 35,757 miles in 2008 to 4,887 in 2009... I know it's had new clocks in at some point though so that's probably when
