SkyJawa
Absolutely tragic news, Marko must feel terrible What an honourable gent Loeb was to refuse to win the championship like that and deliberately incur a time penalty so he didn't http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/world_rally/4257438.stm :( RIP

AJI
bad day for rallying. My brother as a spectator on that stage was not too far away from where it happened. In nearly all forms of motorsport there is risk. As tragic as this is I hope there are no knee jerk reactions from the FIA.

Soonto_HAS_soop
Terrible news, I like watching the accidents in Rallying, but you expect them to be safe with all the precautions and safety equipment that they use like roll cages etc. Makes you think twice of the dangers of driving fast, even with such precautions. RIP
Jezz
And that was with a four point harness, racing seat, full roll cage........... Keep safe people.
SUPRALOOPY
And that was with a four point harness, racing seat, full roll cage........... Keep safe people. does make you think though when giving it large with just a modded car and not really any safety stuff.......RIP.......bad things happen, thats called life :thumbdown
SkyJawa
Unfortunately in the nature of a car its almost impossible to keep the levels of protection offered elsewhere in the car for the doors, even with a cage. Just takes one accident like today thats just the wrong speed at the wrong point of impact. Very sad day for rallying in a sport that hasn't seen a fatal accident in so long, as said, hopefully the FIA won't go mad, Michael certainly wouldn't have wanted them too. Dunno how Markko will deal with carrying on after this though, must have affected him terribly

how_supra
I heard this on the news late last night, totally shocked - especially as we passed a Peugeot WRC team lorry on the m4 last night. I wonder how Martin is getting on. RIP

SkyJawa
Peugeot saying they might withdraw altogether from the rest of the years rallies. They were pulling out after this season anyway, but looks like this tragedy could make it happen sooner.
