brassbones
Maybe it's just my imagination but the selector lever seems a bit waggly on my latest Auto MK4. Give's me scary visions of it coming off in my hand whilst in 'D'!!!! Anyone got any thoughts on this? When you take the centre console trim off there doesn't seem to be much you can do to get at it!!
David P
Swap it for another, there are plenty laying about, think Delboy52 has one in his shed.
brassbones
Dave, how do you get it off?!
David P
It's been a long time since I rocked that roll, 4 fixings under console or gaiter? a 12mm nut onto the connecting rod underneath and a couple of loom clips.
Scooter
David, hopefully you'll know but are NA and TT shifters the same?
David P
David, hopefully you'll know but are NA and TT shifters the same? J spec N/A & T.T. auto shifters are same, U.K. spec shifters don't have the useful red button. All are interswappable. brassbones
How do you get the centre console off without the red button? Leave the key in?
David P
Key in, ignition on, depress brake pedal and press selector release button.
brassbones
That was an academic question obviously ... my TT days are over

David P
I have 1 Lexus shifter arm with the extra weights left if the need arises Bones. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d119/Delboy52/Supra/Sale/IMG_2394_zpsqqrkxjgx.jpg You've changed the subject? Do you have a spare Supra shifter or not?
Delboy52
Oh sorry Bones, my mistake. No the Supra shifter was dismantled for investigation purposes and not really usuable anymore unless for bits.
brassbones
Dellboy ... What did you learn?
Delboy52
How the red release button can be converted to be a push down type with a different gear knob. If you need spare components for yours I may be able to help.
brassbones
Ok cheers mate. Gotta work out how to get this one off first and see if there really is an issue. Can't quite recall how waggly they naturally are.....
evinX
Have to replace 2 blue grommets that wear out, all what was left was blue powder in my selector! if you cant figure out how to remove the assembly, dont do it. You have to get under the car and detatch the gearbox linkage etc.
