Car won't start at operating temperature.

Hey guys, recently my car will just die if I start it up when it's at operating temp, it sounds a bit rough at cold idle but won't cut out. The afr is at a perfect 11.4-11.7 at wot so no issues there. At a loss to what it could be, also a whining noise coming from engine on cold start. Altentator gone?? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Did you not post a dyno thread recently that pointed to the second turbo acting up? Could be that a vacuum leak has gotten worse and the car is struggling to idle. It'll overfuel when cold so that may be the reason it's coping when cold.

Whining could be power steering pump. Have you checked the level? Not meaning to insult your intelligence but I had the same issue for weeks and it turned out to be low PS fluid :D

Yeah but it got low results as it was tested on stock boost, I had the boost controller wired up to come on when the sidelights were on and he never knew that, he just thought it wasn't working. And yeah I heard the power steering when I turned the steering wheel whilst not moving and sounded like it was low but checked fluids and it was fine, thinking its maybe the pump if I have a issue with it!

lol nice, high and low boost settings on the sidelights

First turbo was making 1.1bar though in the graph? Soon as the 2nd turbo came on the boost dropped to about 0.95bar which is still well above the 0.8bar stock boost. All kind of points to an air leak somewhere I think

Last time one of my alternators died on me it was making a terrible screeching sound from engine bay, if it's that then you would know pretty quickly.

Half the supra's I see these days have the power steering whine. Even if your fluid is full, if there is any air in the system then it creates a slight whine when the pump is under load. All it takes is a slight leak somewhere on the PS system (which isn't hard to believe given their ages these days) and you get the sound.

I would check for, in no particular order, weeping injectors, failed fuel pump none return valve, failing engine coolant temperature sensor (the one with 2 wires going to it), failed or failing plenum air temp sensor, and then the less likely no or low signal from the crank or one of the cam position sensors. I assume it's a TT on a stock ecu? If it has an HKS fuel cut eliminator I would try removing it, they can also show this issue.
