Style
As per title does anyone know how to calculate squish or have a calculator that can plug some numbers in for me? I've got a strange piston and headgasket combo that I'd just like to play around with before I make a decision Thanks

Style
Thanks Johhny First one doesn't really give squish clearance which is what I'm looking for. A value in mm. Just seems to be a picture at the bottom of the page. Second one looks like it would work though. Does anyone know where I can get the dimensions needed to fill that out? I've got the first 2, head gasket thickness and pin diameter Edited August 5, 2016 by Style (see edit history)
Chris Wilson
Physically measure it, anything else is risky. You need to understand the implications of how squish affects combustion. A lot depends on combustion chamber shape, piston crown shape and how swirly the inlet ports generate.

I was hoping to find out a rough number so I could then decide whether or not to use some slighlty different pistons that I've picked up. Would have to use a pretty thick headgasket and this combo would probably throw squish figures into a total unknown. So I've no idea whether to ditch the pistons or throw them in over the winter
