Ewen
Sorry to see this Jake.....so the local Plod cant even be bothered to take some fingerprints ? You cant win - why should you park off road, and why shouldnt you have a nice car with a nice stereo and bits in it - bit like saying girls shouldnt go outside where they can be seen or else they are asking to get raped or people shouldnt walk down the road using their mobiles as they are asking to get mugged for their phones.....whats the point of living here if you need cctv / bodyguards just to exist....Im pissed off and its not even my car
Terminator
Nothing taken. The Sony head unit hasn't even had the front flipped down and the GReddy e-01 boost controller display wasn't touched either. Very odd. The next door neighbour's car was done the same last month (window smashed nothing taken) but they came back later that night and took the stereo. I'll be looking out for them tonight and if I catch them..... Gutted for you Jake, been there and it feels like shit. We are still finding glass two weeks later. If you need a hand I have two lads, who love a bit of action. Sounds like your police are talking bollocks. When forensics came to us, they took prints and glass samples, apparently when a car window is broken like that, although it appear all the glass goes into the car load of very tiny fragments explode outwards and get embedded in the scumbags clothes. These are to small to see with the eye, but can be match to samples from your car. But they obviously have to have someone in custody to compare them with, as in our case. But they could have at least taken some dabs and seen if there was a match on the database.

JamesArup
Grrrr ... Gutted for you dude. This sort of thing REALLY annoys me. It's just scummy little chavs who have absolutely no respect for anything that they will never be able to have! A woman that lives down the road from us phoned the Police when she saw 2 guys just wandering about in her garden at midnight. They said they didn't have enough officers to send out, and could she wait an hour or so? They were in her garden RIGHT THEN .... what good would waiting an hour or two do .. who knows what they were going to do!! So they said there was nothing they could do, and left her with these 2 guys in the garden. They hung about for a while, clearly trying to figure out what to steal. So she rang the Police back, obviously scared, and made a passing comment about using her husbands' shotgun .... LOL . Within 4 minutes, there were 3 police cars, and at least 5 officers outside the house!! So there was nobody about to help her when two guys were in the garden (and you never know, they could have had guns). But as soon as she mentioned the word "gun", 5 policemen spring up out of thin air :thumbdown
firepool
Sorry to hear your news jake. I had an escort some time ago and went to brighton for the day. I parked it up in what i thought was a safe place in amongst tons of other normal cars. On returning to it, I found the door lock had been pushed in, unlocked, and my Kenwood stereo, along with full component speakers, 360w Kenwood amp and 2 Earthquake subs had been nicked. There aint many worse feelings you can have when this sort of thing happens so i'm feeling for ya mate Darren (hopefully soon to own a soop)

Pete
They got a perfect palm and finger print off a recently clean windscreen in my sons car. The bastard musrt have leaned on it while he ripped the stereo out. Lucky bugger! Did it lead to a conviction? How can you be sure it was of the person that stole the stereo unless the same print is all over the stereo?

chilli
I'm really sorry to hear your bad news jake, that sucks. I bet you are livid, I know I would be! I've had break-ins and the sinking feeling when you realise whats happened is awful! Shame we live in a time where you can't just leave your car without worrying that some theiving scum isn't going to take an interest in it. Did you have an alarm, did it go off and scare them away? Car alarms, hiding your goodies, CCTV, off road parking, all good stuff but even then there is no garantee really is there As for the police, I can't believe they won't even come out to check the evidence, that takes the piss. They always seem to have the time to nick people for doing a couple of miles over the speed limit... good luck getting it all put right again
JohnA
....So she rang the Police back, obviously scared, and made a passing comment about using her husbands' shotgun .... LOL . Within 4 minutes, there were 3 police cars, and at least 5 officers outside the house!! ... They went there to see if they could arrest HER, she's an easy target, easy catch, traceable etc. If she's found guilty of anything the courts can take away her things, her house etc. What can they gain from arresting a couple of scumbags? Nothing. They're probably on benefits and a council house anyway. ...Plus the lady will look like yet another successful 'crime' tackled by the authorities. Looks good on the statistics. The scumbags will look bad, another 'unsolved' case.

Aerotop Dave
Why can't people just leave other people's stuff alone? If you want something get off your backside and start working for it, don't just nick or damage other people's ffs. Really sorry for you Jake
