cered
looks like the latest is the police & pro-government protestors are slowly disarming the soldiers and restoring control, Turkey's leader still in command and maintaing that they're a democratically elected government and won't fall into how Turkey used to be +1 respect

johnny g
My best mate flew out to Bodrum yesterday, they're staying in Altinkum. He phoned this morning to say everything is fine there. Everyone carrying on as normal. Foreign Office are only advising against travel to Instanbul and Ankara and strongly urging people to stay away from the eastern borders of Turkey. Hopefully it will make Erdogan realise he isn't all powerful, but it's just as likely he will continue on his path to eroding Turkey fine secular traditions in favour of Theocracy. RACsupra
There was a 'coup' in Eastbourne once......... oh no! hold on! there was a co-op in Eastbourne once:) i'll get my coat....... In all seriousness, went to bed looking like the world was going to 'shite' woke up and its all gone south and the peoples army has overturned the 'rebels'............ now if all the migrants could see this and go back and fight for there own country's, the world may just become a better place once more..... cered
Erdogan is a bad person but sometimes you need a bad person to keep a 'status quo', particularly when the option is a pretty corrupt democracy or a military controlled Chaos... look at pre- & post Saddam for example he wa sa bad person but he kept the country going tbf Worth a read; http://imgur.com/gallery/xWS8H
