Guest Nai
Hi All not sure this is the right section.... I have classic car insurance on my Supra 1993 1jz conversion Aero top. The classic car company has asked for a Valuation from a club/forum. Does anyone know how I can go about this? Thanks

Thanks Not really something a club like this would do, the most we can give our idea on prices. Id assume they would want some form of paperwork written which a specialist would do. If they know what they want surely they would have a better suggestion to a business who could do a proper estimation for you. Perhaps take it to a local toyota? Guest Nai
Well this is what i thought but they have been very unclear about certain things even thoe I have asked several times. But yes they require something written and with a company stamp. which is why I do not understand why they have asked me to contact the forum. Thanks anyway for reply. stevie_b
It's a box-ticking exercise for them. Give them some evidence (e.g. current prices of early mk4 aerotops on ebay/autotrader/auctions) and they'll be happy.
Annabella
Had classic car insurance from LV, they wanted a value from me so I gave it and then they want 6 pictures, they then reply and say everything is fine. That's the way it should work.

rider
Had classic car insurance from LV, they wanted a value from me so I gave it and then they want 6 pictures, they then reply and say everything is fine. That's the way it should work. I did the same with LV and they just confirmed nothing had been altered on the policy, which I took to assume the value I set (at £18k) had been agreed. I did email them back to ask for confirmation on their rather vague acknowledgement email and I never did get a response to that. Who knows what insurance companies think? The classic car company has asked for a Valuation from a club/forum. Does anyone know how I can go about this? Thanks I'd recommend you copy all the current ads and send them over to the insurer with a brief write up of your own car history and a set of up to date photos. If they ask for a third party valuation then there are restoration companies dotted all over the country who could be approached to do that for you. I have a mate in the classic car trade who told me I had one of my cars majorly undervalued so I called up the insurer (Hegerty) and they were more than happy to take the new value and an increased premium that went along with it. Any decent insurer will work with you on things like the agreed valuation.
