Power steering pump

Hi

 

Issues with my power steering , I had a leak and didnt spot it until the steering got really hard to turn I put new fluid and the colour of that turn brown after a few miles and the pump doesn't seem to work any ideas ?

I had a similar issue..

I topped up using VW stuff and my steering went super stiff.

Its the type of fluid you have uses, also mixing old with new, you need to use dexron 3.

You wont need much, its with doing a full bleed before replacing.

I did this and it sorted the problem. I made a thread some were one min..

where did you buy dexron 3 from ? , il give that a go first before i buy a new pump :)

 

It's available everywhere, even Halfords stock it. Do follow the guide Malcolm posted if the fluid isn't nice and clean and the system still isn't working correctly, it solved a similar issue with my PAS system.
