kevin smith
Hi guys my Jap import had a problem with the engine warning lights coming on when i booted it, and when it hit 80mph and the gearbox would get confused and the OD light would flash on and off. I got advice from you, to change the KPH to MPH converter, i have done this and the gearbox is changing gear very nicely now and the OD light has stopped flashing. But when i booted it the engine warning lights came on again, any ideas or help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Kevin.
ripped_fear
what light is it? could be low brake fluid, common problem if it is on the minimum that when you put your foot down the fluid sloshs to one side and the light comes on briefly. Also have you checked for error codes?
kevin smith
Thanks rip, the brake fluid is fine. It's the main warning light/ handbrake light and the little engine shape light on the right hand side top of the dash above the clock cluster. Ps i have no way of checking error codes. Ps i have no way of checking error codes. you can check the error codes at home by bridging the diag ports with a paper clip then count the number of flashes on the dash. Search for paper clip test and go from there

mellonman
I always thought that that warning light was for knock . What mods do you have ?
Chris Wilson
It's for umpteen different things, hence why you need to read what codes it's beefing about
kevin smith
only dropped one cat and a new exhaust. but was doing it before these were done?.
Chris Wilson
Read the codes, it's the only way of finding out. 5 minute job, just need a bit of wire or a bare metal paper clip.
