JasonR24
Yeah I tried them, they were double the price I was getting on regular price comparison sites. What exactly is the trick here when adding mods? Do most people give hazy details or not bother declaring them at all? Declared all my mods with no issues. I'm with Adrian flux. ianhid
Same, everything declared through Flux. I'm negotiating on renewal at the moment, but currently BPU at about £600 for the year for decent milage and driving for business + commuting. It can be hard enough to get money out of an insurance company and not declaring things is frowned on by them (and the law).

Well it's fraud and you could get a criminal record as technically you are driving whilst uninsured as your insurance is void.
Alex_GT
Well I must be telling them something different then. On a comparison site for my car at the moment it's around £650, but add in the mods and it goes above £10,000 (not a typo) and that's if I get any quotes at all. Mk4Gaz
Forget comparison sites, waste of time. You need to speak directly to the brokers Chris knott Sky Prestige Performance direct Adrian flux These are a few you should try
Frank Bullitt
There was a thread on here where someone mentioned using comparison sites caused problems when trying to get insured, I'll see if I can find it.
Marcus GTE
Try Lancaster, all bpu mods declared (restricted miles) £270. I get that you want to do more miles and use the car to commute (I'm covered for that too) but it's a good starting point. For the record my previous insurer admiral were always cheap for me (from main stream insurance ie not classic etc) until saying they can't cover fitting a boost controller. Alex_GT
Yeah I've tried Lancaster too, over £3000 with some of the BPU mods. They said it was probably because it wasn't considered a classic car yet, so a lot of their people couldn't quote.

Alex_GT
Ok thanks I will give them a try tomorrow. Tried again with Performance Direct, lowered the mileage, and now I can't even get a price from them. I don't understand why with no modifications the prices I get are really low, then as soon as you add the mods it jumps to 5 times the price at the least, and thats if I even get a price at all. What sort of price increase have others seen after doing BPU mods?
