brom86
Had the car in the garage today and the sensor/probe which goes into the 1st cat has split from the cat ever so slightly causing a blow. What's the best way to fix this. Can u buy a new sensor housing and screw it back into the cat or go decat with a new sensor flange
Wez
Get rid of the cat and tuck the sensor out the way
Rob W
It's just a cat overheat sensor. As Wez said, tuck it up out the way or cut it then pull it back through the tunnel and get a decat pipe.
Mike2JZ
I just welded the gap on mine as I wasn't able to find any other way aside from getting another cat

Won't it throw up a light on the dash?
Wez
Won't it throw up a light on the dash? Yes, the cat temp sensor light, you can either pull the bulb or unpin it from memory.

brom86
100% if i pull the sensor out and tuck it away and weld the hole it won't throw a light on in the dash??? Edited June 17, 2016 by brom86 (see edit history)
Mike2JZ
Just cut the sensor wires, it wont make the light appear. Then you don't have to worry about tucking the sensor out the way, as there is barely anywhere to put it

Chris Wilson
If it's goi8ng pop, pop pop there's an air leak into the exhaust and dependent upon where it is it may throw the O2 sensor signal out of kilter.
