GSR2007
Hi guys have a 95 na-tt conversion supra still using w58 Want to switch to single turbo and will build a kit over the next few months will be looking to pull about 450-500hp will be used as a street car, for weekend use so won't see much abuse but want something that spools quickly was looking at some precision turbos 5858 and 6266 but I would like more info off people who run these sort of turbos if possible? I'm all ears as I don't know much about single setups for that power range, as most cars I see on this is 600+ hp
j_jza80
I'm not that familiar with the precision turbos, but I'm using a Garrett GTX3576R, which is a brilliant turbo. Zero lag, nice smooth powerband.
GSR2007
Thanks I will look into them also
Tyson
Are you keeping the w58 when you go single ?
GSR2007
Yes I most likely will keep the w58 see how long it lasts could last a day or could last a year I've been told, i will have a backup plan tho just havent decided if i would go bmw box or r154 i cant justify the price of a v160
j_jza80
Personally wouldn't touch a Getrag Bix with a bargepole now. No new ones left, expensive to repair (that's if you can get the parts), second hand boxes are expensive.

Ya man I couldn't just pay that sort of money for a second hand gearbox that most condition is unknown really, alot of drift heads here using the bmw and 350z setup so I'll most likely go for a setup like that
j_jza80
Thing is, the BMW and 350z boxes are a cheap alternative. The T56 is an upgrade. May cost a little more, but you not only get a tougher box, but the value of the car would also be higher (IF you sold it right)

j_jza80
Pardon the ignorance but what's the t56 in man? A few American Muscle cars, Corvette, Viper, Cameron, Challenger etc very good transmission, cheap, strong etc.
Milo500
Have almost finished my build (going for 550bhp). Have ordered a custom Turbonetics, cost 850...amazing quality, don't see why there's a bit of a price difference between turbonetics and precision/garrett....ring up the suplier in England (found on ebay) .... they make the turbo sizes for you and what your power goals are
