Mike2JZ
Part numbers are very similar: NA = 17410-46190 TT = 17410-46160 Not 100% sure on differences, but from photos they do look interchangeable.
Matt _Aero top_
It just looks like on the front where it meets the fist cat it's a very thin flange on the top and bottom ..... Does it require some kind of special sealing ring ?
Scooter
The standard cats/exhaust joints have recesses shallow recesses and there are crush ring gaskets between them https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=toyota+crush+ring+exhaust&biw=1600&bih=861&tbm=isch&imgil=lENHd7AeSSkrAM%253A%253BSdK5pZZO6r6NhM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.parts.loc8apart.co.uk%25252Fnav%25252Fauto-part%25252FToyota%25252FHiace%25252FExhaust-Gaskets.php&source=iu&pf=m&fir=lENHd7AeSSkrAM%253A%252CSdK5pZZO6r6NhM%252C_&usg=__8TVKUFun7bS4fhqOf3aAGPeX7ZE%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjIp4HMn53NAhXGB8AKHVH_ACcQyjcIJw&ei=4ZVaV4izH8aPgAbR_oO4Ag#imgrc=lENHd7AeSSkrAM%3A
Chris Wilson
All 2nd cats are interchangeable, but if you want to put a UK one on a none Uk / US car you need to block the unused 2nd O2 sensor hole. I sell plates for that purpose.
Matt _Aero top_
Cheers guys Just ordered two crush rings from Mr T Just under 10 quid all in Thanks Chris but it's just a standard Jspec TT cat going onto one of your NA first decats Thanks
Chris Wilson
You should use a flat gasket and forget the crush ring. I may have some in stock, if not I can get some in. they are reusable several times. The de cat pipes are not designed to use the crush rings. i have loads of good used ones, but never use them on de cat pipes to cat interfaces. Scooter
Matt, I'll have the crush rings if you don't use them. I thought they'd be ok to use on a Cat to Decat joint (appreciate they wouldn't at all on Decat to decat joint)
Chris Wilson
The use of a ring allows the "ears" of the decat flange to pull down and bend. To use a ring you would need to machine a recess in the decat flange similar to the one in the cat.
Matt _Aero top_
Would the same apply for the other end when it's coupling up to a whifbitz cat back system
Scooter
The use of a ring allows the "ears" of the decat flange to pull down and bend. To use a ring you would need to machine a recess in the decat flange similar to the one in the cat. Ah I see, so it would seal but the decat and cat faces won't be flush/you can't fully 'close the gap' as you clamp it down hence the bending. - - - Updated - - - Would the same apply for the other end when it's coupling up to a whifbitz cat back system Yes afraid so, like I said if you've gone too far to stop the order I'll buy the rings from you.
