Mr Deano
Hello guys, I'm half way through front end restoration and started bolting bits back on the car, does anyone know the torque figures for the main bolts on both crossmember and subframe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pic attached Edited June 9, 2016 by Mr Deano (see edit history)

Mike2JZ
Don't have them to hand but all torque figures you need are in the Toyota supra repair manual, which you can find on homepage of forum

Scooter
Are you diying the refurb? Just keen to know how you've cleaned everything up to the level in the pics, elbow grease and degreasers or given it a third party?
Mr Deano
Cheers mike2jz , I have been using the manuals on this forum to get torque specs but I couldn't find all the crossmember figures, maybe I didn't look properly, And to reply to scooter, some components have been shot blasted and powdercoated, the crossmember was aqua blasted, some things have been purchased from toyota and other stuff literally just elbow grease and degreasers. It's been a lenthy process. The steering rack had all new seals and done the outside with degreasers, scotch pads and then anti corrosion rubberized stonechip for the finish. Scooter
Also in the manual I remember seeing a section where the markings on the head of a bolt were a key to the torque figure. found something see attachmentToyota Standard Bolt Torque Specifications.pdf Edited June 10, 2016 by Scooter (see edit history)
Mr Deano
Hey guys, thanks for all the responses to my question, the bolt head markings are brilliant, and thanks for the link scooter. And thanks also for the comments about the work. I've spent a long time just chipping away at the car, and it's starting to take shape. Got a lot of work left to do but it's all worth it. Scooter
No problem it's nice to see this sort of thing starting to happen to the cars, they are so well made that most get to 20 years old with no major refreshing needed, but ultimately it's inevitable they will or would at least greatly benefit from it. It's something I'd love to do to mine one day so would like to see more photo's down the line.
