Mk4Gaz
Hi all, hoping someone can help Just recently my overdrive button has stopped working, so I cannot turn it off. I'm going for mapping soon, so need to get this fixed...... I modded the auto lever a while back, and made a mental note of what way the two wires from the button, went into the blue 4 pin plug. After removing the shifter trim, I realised that both wires have come out (I wish I'd soldered/crimped them now), but I'm not sure where they're supposed to go. Could anyone with an auto take a picture of how theirs is - making a note of what pins the wires should line up with please?
Chris Wilson
It's only a switch so which way around the wires go does not matter
Mk4Gaz
Thanks Chris, but, the two wires from the overdrive button, go to a 4 pin plug. It's what pins I need to connect to that I'm not sure of

Chris Wilson
I can get a photo but probably nut until tomorrow, when I am fitting a speedometer converter and will have the panels out of a TT auto.

Cheers buddy, hopefully Chris won't mind taking a picture, and that will be enough. But, if I get really stuck, I'll let you know

Chris Wilson
Lousy photo, sorry, but does this help at all?
Mk4Gaz
Thanks Chris, but unfortunately it doesn't! I've had another look, and the wires in the 4 pin plug are: White/green trace White/black trace Green/orange trace Purple/green trace. Basically, I just need to know what two of those pins, the overdrive button should connect to
kayjay0_7
Think the colours you need are White/black and violet/green

Mk4Gaz
Legend, thanks kel, hopefully that's right
Mk4Gaz
Just in case anyone is as daft as me in the future, I can confirm that kelvin was correct. One side of the switch goes to the violet/green trace, and the other side goes to the white/black trace
Chris Wilson
Glad you are sorted for whatever reason the camera would not do a close focus today.
