Awesome RX7

Recommended Posts

Just been down at my tuners, they had my mates RX7 on the dyno mapping the F-con Pro V. The engine is brand new from the States, from a company that builds race tuned RX engines and has been fitted by my tuners here with an HKS T-04Z single turbo kit.

:omg: this is the first time I've heard a tuned RX7 rotory engine, Jesus the noise is unbelievable, sounds more like a bike or F1 engine, very high pitched and deafeningly load. Stood next to the car whilst on the dyno, even with my fingers in my ears it was painfully loud. It had an extractor pipe on the Apexi exhaust, which obiously had a hole in it as it kept spitting out huge flames :flame:

Can't wait for it to be finished so I can get a ride in it :ecstatic:  :scare:

I had my rex on the rolling road the other week. The sound was just amazing :) And yeh, it did spit out some flames a couple of times. I was having a Apexi FC mapped up as mine is de-catted and was running a bit lean at the top end.

If you think a standard 2 rotor Rx7 is load, you should hear the 4 rotor Hayward car!!!!!. It was at RotorstockII and was almost as loud as the jet cars. totally mad

Any pictures of your mates car Nik?

Well its ok now mate. Got told by Geoff at ReWorks that i wouldnt need bigger injectors yet as im still on the standard turbos. He said the next upgrade maybe a bigger fuel pump and regulator, with colder plugs. But im happy as it is at the moment :)
