Hitbox Junkie
Has anyone owned one or know any common faults. Always liked them and it's 4 door perfect for a family car with poke. Just wondered what are the pros and cons to the car
Big Mark
The V10 was NA not twin turbo.

Hitbox Junkie
No no not looking to sale. And I thought the were twin turbo. Woops.
Hitbox Junkie
Cheers Mark I didn't realise this thought they were twin's. I just randomly looking on flee bay and there dirt cheap.for the power and the 4 doors. This would be a purchase once I've got the supra. More than likely fiance as I've been given a good opportunity for one but not yet.
Gaz6002
Buy a cheap one and it'll hurt you. Those engines are fantastic, but they're also fantastically expensive to keep running. A big bill will likely be an economic write-off.
j_jza80
As above. These engines were really too exotic for a mainstream BMW, and can be ruinous when they go wrong. Just like the similarly fantastic V10 found in Audi S and RS models.
ashloys
I'd buy one just for the sound alone and deal with the consequences later lol. One of my friends had one a while back and they're a fantastic car!
fullthrottle
I've had one great car good build quality the only downside is the gearbox is not very good for city driving gear changes are a little bit harsh at low speed
Dnk
Don't these all have an SMG box in them ?
j_jza80
Don't these all have an SMG box in them ? Yes, except the Americans got a manual too.
Dnk
Would be nice if they had the DCT box like the M3 V8 has
bignum
My mate bought 1 last year, its been in/out of the garage like a yo yo, had gearbox done, throttle actuators and some other stuff, spent nearly 10k fixing it, now he`s frightened to drive the thing just incase it breaks again:rolleyes:
marc_p
One of my friends has the V10 M6, epic car with a fantastic engine sound, but if you don't have the funds to maintain, they can be horrible car to own, it needed new discs and pads last month, that was £1k straight off, just for the front. The fact you are looking at finance, I'd probably advise that it may not be the car for you.
