Hi Everyone been lurking for awhile , I'm from British Columbia Canada I recently acquired a 1994 JDM twin turbo Supra Im having a smoking problem and pinned it back to one of the turbos I'm looking for replacement cartridges to swap out

now I'm trying to get my part#s straight and have found a lot of info on here but have not been able to confirm the JDM parts numbers for each turbo, now Nic did state in one thread he posted this info but its a huge forum to search so any info or point me in the right direction is definitely appreciated

now heres the info Ive found

UK turbos are:

FR 17201-46030

RR 17208-46030

JDM turbos are

17201-46030 is this front or rear turbo?

I have not found the other units part# as of yet

Thanks here's a few pics of my build so far

If you want the ceramic J-Spec cartridges you will have to buy new complete turbos from Toyota. The part number has superceded to the VVTi ones, which interchange. I am told they will shortly be off the parts list as when stock is exhausted that's that. Lasst ones I bought were about £1500 plus VAT each, from a UK Toyota dealer.

I definitely do NOT want ceramic stock cartridges, I see many replacement options out there but I'm trying to sift through what's junk and what's actually a good product ,

Ok me again so they have different part #s but are the turbine and compressor wheels the same size on each turbo?

This site leads me to believe they are just different housing outlet sizes as per the quote below.

"The turbochargers themselves are identical in size with the exception being the rear turbochargers exhaust housing which is 23.7mm longer and does not contain a wastegate, instead it contains an exhaust bypass valve which is used in the sequential operation to transition this turbocharger online with the primary (#1) turbocharger so both turbochargers are producing equal amounts of pressure and flow."

The Jap spec turbos are the most reliable and flow the most air, they would, by far, be my OE turbo of choice. This was done to death years and years ago.

yes I agree with that I'm looking for a vendor that sells new cartridges not used turbos, I have three sets of jdm twins and all issues I see all over the internet vendors selling them but was hoping someone has already went down this path

and I believe both turbos are identical with the exception of the housings , I will disassemble the ones I have to confirm I was just wondering if its already been confirmed or not

Thanks everyone
