Ric
Hi Guys, I don't usually post things like this but it's for a really good cause and certainly hard work! https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/13177254_252933618392786_3805304033529201714_n.jpg?oh=84121a32728814a80c8b7276e3b5c84e&oe=57A4E7E4 One of the crew members on-board the ship that I work on is undertaking a mammoth cycle ride from Athens (Greece) to the UK in order to raise funds for a memorial fund for a close friend and colleague who sadly lost her battle with cancer at the start of the year. The Andrea Jane Memorial Fund was established in March 2016 to continue Andrea's work with young people following her untimely passing in January 2016 at the age of 39 years. Andrea was heavily involved in the Scout movement from an early age and would often go above and beyond to help young people in need. The funds main objective is to continue this work by providing financial support for 11 to 21 year old people who demonstrate that they want to help themselves. The Trip 3,578 Km • Day 1-4 - Depart Athens and cycle to Meteora, Kalabaka 352 Km • Day 4-7 - Meterora, Kalabaka to Bitola 229 Km • Day 7-9 - Bitola to Durres, Albania 266Km • Day 9-15 - Durres to Vatican City 720 Km • Day 16-19 - Vatican City to San Marino 323 Km • Day 19-23 - San Marino to Milan 386 Km • Day 23-26 - Milan to Vaduz, Liechtenstein 259 Km • Day 26-27 - Vaduz to Zurich 107Km • Day 27-33 - Zurich to Paris 569 Km • Day 33-38 - Paris to Ventnor, Isle of Wight 451 Km If you can spare a few £ it would be greatly appreciated you can donate on the Justgiving page below: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/Athens-to-UK Even if you don't want to donate you can follow the journey on the Facebook group below: https://www.facebook.com/AthenstoUK/ Thanks for your support!
