Sheefa
Yea definitely! Glad you are all sorted! Is the clutch totally not salvagable? /QUOTE] Flywheel and pressure plates will be. Definitely not the clutch discs themselves.
Andrew K
Glad to see you finally got the clutch problem sort. When you refurbed the fuel shield what did you use? I'm liking the look of yours and want to do mine at some point and been wondering what's best to use.
Al Massey
* Received my nice new rear mounts made by a member on here. They look great and can use OEM bushes too. These are quality. Better than OEM Edited June 16, 2017 by Al Massey (see edit history)
Hemanhead
Real shame about the clutch, such bad luck. Surely cheaper to repair than buy new though? Wish I had a box full of spare suspension parts like that, very nice

I'm liking the look of yours and want to do mine at some point and been wondering what's best to use. Hi Andrew Stripped right back to bare metal with angle grinder and dremel abrasive wheel. Then jetwashed and air lined dry. Applied 2 coats of Zinc 182 with at least 48 hours between coats. Then a few top coats of Halfords Manifold Manifold high temp Metallic Grey paint (900 degrees from memory) and 3 coats of trade lacquer. I didn't want black or hammerite hence colour choice. I'll be doing all the arms in grey metallic too. Worked a treat and has been perfect since.

Might be slightly cheaper but the whole experience put me off HKS and given I have the OS Giken differential thought I'd go with clutch too. Existing suspension arms etc are great but futureproofing and I know changing them for new OEM is one of the best modifications you can so so why not ! Sheefa
Bit of an update as I kept the car and plan on doing a few bits over the next few months when I get time. Two nice industrial dehumidifiers and a turbofan heater have kept the temps in garage to a pleasant working standard! Car has been off the road since November. Stripped the entire front end off to do a few key jobs, mainly cosmetic, which include: - Rewiring of bespoke Headlights and LED Indicators with quick release connectors - Clean and respray front bumper, replace mesh and fix headlamp washer jet bolt - Clean up Blitz 4 row FMIC of old paint and recoat. I can't believe how good the condition of core is and it looks much better now with a fresh coat of proper paint - Tidy up wiring underneath and protect - Replace all rear and front suspension once bumper is refitted. Purchased two new bumper retaining support brackets from TCB as bolts are old and deteriorated. - Tested out carbon velocity stack (courtesy of Berg) ready for some 2018 shows. Nice. - Car will hopefully be getting wrapped around April time in an RSP and gloss carbon style. Plenty more to come. Sheefa
Thanks gents. Wrap will most likely be done by Seven Star Customs. I've seen their work first hand up close and it's spot on. Other plans include Zirocoating or potentially replacing manifold for new, potentially bigger injectors and a further remap and full under chassis treatment. Sheefa
So after a lot of deliberation I decided to get my Veilside Full Titianium Teardrop Exhaust sent to a specialist titanium workshop for some custom fabrication. I wanted to remove the ridiculous bottleneck and 2 bolt steel flanges. Essentially my exhaust was reducing from 3.5" to 3" in this one spot killing power potential. I came across this place in the Midlands, they do a lot of custom fabrication work for the Sea Drilling and Oil Rig industry and also manufacture hot air balloon tanks to custom spec. After speaking to the main two guys there about how best to remove restriction and fit a new straight pipe and flange in place I was happy to drop it off. Only 4 days later and £100 down I'll let the below pictures demonstrate the results! I'm utterly amazed with the work. Materials alone would of cost this let alone labour. Those welds are beautiful. Next step fitment and I'll be making some more power given it's now 3.5" minimum all the way through with a map tweak sometime in the year. I can crack on with other bits now too. Also finished returning intercooler and pipework. Gave the frobt end a good clean too. Bumper is now back on and ready to fit all the other bits.
