TT Paul
Any pest control people here.. They got in through an outside vent and are in a cavity. Cant see the nest so what is best to do. Do i block it off and spray a load in there add some traps. or leave it open and use bug traps. Any sensible advice welcome cheers.

mplavery
As its a vent and you don't want to block it off with foam, cant you put some mesh in there to stop them coming through ?

Tricky-Ricky
Speak to beekeepers. Don't kill them This! there are enough diseases/pests etc that are wiping out bee populations without exterminating then, they are very useful and important to the bio environment, try looking up what would happen should bees become extinct. Al Massey
Paul, beekeepers will happily come and collect bees and combs for free. They don't charge, they request people call them instead of exterminators. I had bees last year, beekeeper was round and took them all away. You may need to identify what bees you have. I agree, but when they are getting into your house and flying around your bedroom etc with kids it becomes a real problem, I know its happened to us. In our case they were getting into an unblocked hole in a wall of my neighbour's building (Tesco) and there were thousands in and around our garden/house. We contacted Tescos who had a contract with Rentokill who were called and had a look and said they couldn't do anything as bees were a protected species. I then called the local council who put me in touch with a bee keeper who was very keen to come and take a look with a view of taking them away if they swarmed. He turned up and said Rentokill didn't have a clue what they were talking about and not only were they not protected, but they weren't real bees anyhow. Had to call Rentokill myself and got them back, this time they sent someone sensible and gassed them all and sealed up the hole. But this whole process took a couple of weeks and lots of hassle and we couldn't even open the windows to the house or use the garden. Real pain and feel for you Paul. Try and find a local beekeeper for some real advice.

Good for you, maybe that was because you were always "leaving".
TT Paul
It appears they are a type of bee that is a pest. From a quick look on google either way im going to kill them as not good having them in my house. So traps, spray etc will be in use. Thanks for the input guys.
