boostman
Possibly a dumb question but here goes: Is the extension tank supposed to be full, mines pretty empty maybe an inch in the bottom? The radiator is full to the top of the cap. Thanks for any info!
Josh
On the left side of it there's a min. and max. level Edit - it should be between those levels. If your radiator is filled to the top, top the expansion tank up to the max. level and keep an eye on it.

cered
if you find that you have a coolant loss thing but no signs of H/gasket failure, replace the rad cap with a new 1.3bar one, and check the rear heater/coolant hoses behind the engine head at the firewall for leaks
Scooter
Mine sits at quite a low level in the expansion tank, never empties but seems to push out some if I top it up to the max. The main thing is that when it's cold the rad is full and there is some in the expansion tank. When you stop after using it one time, pop the hood and the expansion tank should be almost full, or at least much more full than when cold. Good advice thanks, my engine was cold when I noticed the tank was nearly empty, I'll top up a bit and have a drive and see if it fills!
