kirky_123
Currently in the process of ordering new ccw wheels and the only problem I'm finding is are the r888 in 315/30/18 the only good option? Would a newer, slightly narrower tyre be a better option being the Michelin cup 2 tyre in 295/30/18? Either way can I still mount these onto a 11.5jj wheel, that way I can order them and decide when they turn up. Jonny
JamieP
I would just go R888 bud, be best for traction and they are not as bad in the wet as people say, they just struggle with standing water.
kirky_123
Ok then pal, I guess I'm only only ever out in the wet if I get caught out in the rain, I'll get ccw to send out the rears with R888 on (much cheaper then the uk) and I'll buy some pilot sport 4 for the front when they arrive. hogmaw
I have Michelin Pilot Sports 315/30/18 on my CCW rears and they are fine although I haven't tested them in the wet. Narrower tyre would suit fine too and might actually ride better.
jcbt
We have Michelin pilot sport 2 in 315/30/18 on a works 11.5 j and they are great for grip wet and dry
Littler
To increase grip have you considered a 305/35 R888, I believe you will need to get them imported from the US (CCW may well be able to help with that)? The increase in side wall would aid with grip/traction overall.
kirky_123
Didn't even know there was a 305/35/18, did just have a look though, would handling be sacrificed going with a taller tyre? 315/30/18 would be 646mm diameter 305/35/18 would be 670mm diameter Would there be any pros or cons between the two sizes?
