UK Front Brake Caliper Bolt Torque

Kilps

Recommended Posts

I've refurbed my UK Front brakes recently but I can't find the torque setting for the four bolts pictured (across the top of the picture) that hold the two sides of the calipers together.

I've got the settings for the two that hold each caliper on the car and for the banjo bolt, from this page:

Anyone know where I can find the correct torque for those bolts?

Thanks in advance.

You won't. Toyota do not consider them to be serviceable in so far as to split the halves. This is why they neither list nor sell the square seals between the caliper halves (that MUST be replaced if the calipers are dismantled). So they list no torque. You will have to go by feel, they are metric fine thread and don't need much torque, for their diameter.

Thanks Chris. Seems a bit odd, but at least I know to stop looking now!

Which square seals do you mean? There were circular rubber grommet type seals where the fluid flows between the two halves. These were not replaced in the refurb kit but I assumed this was because they are not moving seals. They looked and felt fine to me so I reused them.
