Karl M N Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 (edited) PROBLEM SOLVED Looks like I'm not having a lot of luck with the new car. I had driven the car less than an hour before this happened so I'm not sure whats gone wrong. As the title says, I can't shift out of park. My brakes/brake lights are working. I believe I need to start checking the fuses but honestly don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated as I need to move the car asap. I've checked the fuses in the engine bay and they all seem to be in order. I've read that I should be able to find more through an access panel in the driver side footwell but I can't find it. Karl M N Posted May 2, 2016 Author Share Posted May 2, 2016 I should point out that this is my first automatic car, so this is the first I'm hearing of a shift lock button. Just been out to have a look but it's a little bit too dark now and I have no torches. I'll give it another quick go before I walk to work in the morning. I do not have that red button. It's just a little black square. I went back out to the car and stuck my finger down the shifter and now it's working again. Don't know what I did but hey, it worked. Thanks for the replies guys, very much appreciated. The lack of a red button is kind of odd, could it be because it's a UK spec? EDIT: No, It's not a triptonic.
