MrRalphMan
Hi, I'm thinking of getting cctv and initially thought about the HIKVision 76xx NVR's, but am now thinking of a more entry level system. The Hikvision DS-7108N-SN/P as the NVR. I initially thought that the 2MP limit on the streams would be a deal breaker, but thinking about it a full HD video should be enough for my needs. All I want is to cover the front/side/garden with HIKVision turrets and probably a dome camera by the front door where we have a light on during the hours of darkness all the time. So just wanted to be sure that this would be good enough for my non pro requirements? Also in case I wanted to add a camera using the internal LAN instead of the POE, for example in/on the Garage, then I assume this is possible though the LAN port on the NVR? Thank, Paul
supra_aero
I got arlo for one of my homes. Totally wireless system. I mean totally. Motion capture and batteries on cameras last 2-4 months. Took 15 mins to set up 4 cameras. Only negative is it works off internet. Positive is uploads to cloud for free for 7 days of footage. MrRalphMan
I've seen that and a colleague had it too and rates it. I fancy something with Full HD video capture though. Sent from my OnePlus One via Tapatalk
marbleapple
Great recommendation. How do you find the battery life? 12 batteries every two months (£18?) doesn't seem cheap to me.

supra_aero
Had mine running a month and battery indicators are still on 5/5 bars. I'll get rechargeable ones (you can get them on amazon). Its the simple ease of set up and quality of video. Checking video on 4 cameras on your phone anywhere anytime in the world is amazing. We used to get a lot of damages weekly from clients staying at this home; however since they've been installed had no damages so they have paid for themselves already. Sheefa
I have four cameras installed in my house and garage now. Two of them are absolutely amazing. They're the Flir FX ones and have truly brilliant features like RapidRecap, motion, temp, humidity, audio detection and true cloud recording. The cost was about £200 each with cloud recording 1 week footage at £7 a month. Worth every single penny. They are military grade cameras. I wanted a system that allows total remote monitoring and cloud recording with immediate triggers and snapshot video footage once a sensor has tripped. This has it all. I bought these after extensive reviews on other brands like Dropcam etc. IMHO these are the best quality all round cameras you can get and don't have the risk of an intruder stealing a DVR of footage! Whilst this uses the internet it does also record simultaneously onto an SD card as extra protection. Greg
