pedrosixfour
Do you need to supply your own member of the clergy to beat the crap out of or do the organisers supply them?

kitch79
Does anyone have any experience, either participating or attending events? A close friend fought in one last year, we booked a table ring side, great stuff. He was meant to train as you get it all in with the fee, but he didn't, he won tho. Think it's only 3 rounds. Kendo11
I did this several years ago, about 2 or 3 rounds if I remember rightly. I did a bit of training before hand and luckily the other guy didn't! Great fun though.
Hitbox Junkie
It's 3 rounds I'm thinking of doing it soon. The training is free but you have to sale 20 tickets to the event. Friend did it last month and he said best experience he's had. As you walk out to 3000+ people. They usually have 3 rings/fights going at the same time too. What do you want to know ?? Mostly interested in the experience of those that have done it, particularly how you keep your composure and resist the temptation to just rush in and scrap. I have my first fight on Saturday in Milton Keynes, there will be 20 fights in front of 3,000 people. The fitness training has been brilliant, I am at my lightest and strongest in more than 30 years, but I doubt many go from novice to competent boxer in ten weeks. I am already living on my nerves, and there is still three days to go!
supra joe
First of all.... Don't go all in and brawl... Or you will gas out in the first round. The adrenaline dump is not nice when you are trying to keep your composure and defend yourself lol. Tbh getting punched in the face doesn't hurt. Go out there and just have fun. Try not to waste loads of energy on big haymakers. Chances are your opponent will so make those shots of yours count. Straight through the middle. Also get body shots in too. Many white collar events people don't throw them and you will be suprised how fast a good bodyshot can drop someone. If he rushes you. What I like to do is reach out with the jab and obstruct the opponents view then bring in an over hand right lol. That either drops them or they back off haha. Thank you, the coaches have all been brilliant but they say that most people get in the ring and forget most of what they have been taught because of the mix of nerves, testosterone and adrenaline. I've got to try and be a bit clever as my opponent is half my age, taller and heavier, but what's the worst that can happen?!
supra joe
If he's taller and has range on you... Get on the inside and work the body. Take his range away from him. Use your shoulder to nudge him back whilst cutting off the ring. He will eventually end up either in the corner or on the ropes. Then unload oh and keep that chin down lol. scorling
It all took place last night; 22 fights and a great event. Its amazing how clarity of thought right up to the moment you climb in the ring disappears into a mist of confusion and doubt. I was knocked down in the first round and the referee stopped it late in the second. I didn't have an answer to his jab and never got inside. He kept me at a distance and was one of the few on the night that actually boxed rather than scrapped. Two black eyes, plenty of bruising and a split lip were the reward for ten weeks of very hard training. It was fantastic; I would recommend everyone does it once! I will be a spectator at the next event in November.
