Patters
As above does the N/A engine have an EGR?? Whatever that is I'm basically having an engine change, which a local mechanic is doing for me. We've ordered an engine from an engine supplier, who is situated in the same village as my mechanic, but they are messing us around, so I'm trying to source an engine elsewhere. A company who might be able to get an N/A engine says that theres two makes of N/A engine, one with EGR and one without. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks, Patters
Gaz Walker
I would say not - export twin turbos (that is UK/US/Euro spec cars) have EGR, Jap specs dont... Gaz.
Guest Martin F
Ahhh but what about the export NA for the US market Gaz ???? That model does have an EGR system. Patters, I would say order what ever engine you can get hold of. As long as your original engine is a Jap spec it should have the appropriate blanking plates which can be transferred to your new engine. The worst case is that you need to buy a couple of blanking plates for circa £50. HTH

Patters
Supra_Al, Your PM box is full so I couldn't post you my message on the details of what happened to my car. So I've E-mailed you............. i think. Basically, I posted the problem, which I had with the engine on this BBS at Christmas. I was getting a strange knocking noise that was worrying me. The chaps said to get it booked in to a garage as soon as possible. So I did, and the mechanic diagnosed that the BIG ENDS were knackered So the jobs being done now, but the company thats supplying the engine is taking the mick, so I'm looking elsewhere. I think the previous owner of my car didn't take care of it much, so I'm suffering cos of it Patters
