Chris Wilson Posted April 23, 2016 Share Posted April 23, 2016 A radio amateur in Canada launched two toy helium filled party balloons the other day, they had a miniature ultra low power transmitter tethered to them, with an inbuilt mini GPS unit. People have tracked the balloons progress around the world and today it had clocked up an amazing 4,000 kms. During the day solar panels charge the tiny battery, at night the system sleeps to conserve power.
