Hate to say it but mine sounded like that due to bottom end shells worn. It's a tricky job. Took me 2 days by myself. Drop the whole sub frame and remove sump while under the car

What was it on yours? mine comes from the front of the engine not the rear??

Mike came from the front. Best way is get a screw driver. Put handle to your ear and end ok the sump. If it's knocking loudly it's big end shells mate.

Double check your crank pulley bolt , make sure its tight with a socket while hot you may need a locking tool but to have the noise you will get a turn on the crsnk pulley bolt if thats the noise I had it on mine once

I will trie that, i have only torque the bolt when the engine was cold, when i did the timingbelt.. can the pully bolt be the reason of the sound.. because is it only on ldle the sound appars, if i give a little gas the knock dissapers.. i have idle point about 750 to 850 rpm, if i raise it so 900 to 1000 rpm, there is no sound knocking..

Yes it can mine was exactly as you describe, but if you torqued it when you done the timing belt with a locking tool then I doubt it will be the cause but always worth a check as its the cheapest and easiest to do / check. Fingers crossed

I now you guyes think that i am crasy when you hear this.. from oil temp up to 85c no knock, from 85 to 87c a little knock a little les that on the video , from 88c and to 91c no knock had the engine running idle speed some min with no knock , if i rev it a little and let i go to idle speed again, it can idle some min without knocking, then it can start with a little knock, then stop again.. With other words it comes and goes but only in the range off 85c to 87c oil temp, then i stop the car.. what the ** is going on with my engine..

But if i rev the engine to 800 to 1000 rpm and hold it steddy there, no knock what so ever..

if it was a bearing fault wouldent it follow the rpm range???

it could be the flex plate? if it's an auto.

front crank pulley

it don't sound like the big ends or mains to me, but hard to tell from that you tube clíp.

I have a 6 speed manual gearbox on mine, no i dont think it is a bearing too, it dont sound like that at all.. and it comes and goes as you can hear, and only on idle, if a raise the idle just a little bit, the sound dissapers total.. how can i check the crank pully??

You can check the crank pulley its self with the tip ex test , which is run a line from the centre to the outer edge of the pulley goingb through the rubber join , run the car and see if the line still line up,

Did you check the crank pulley bolt yet?

Ok i will trie that.. yes i did check the bolt on hot engine.. it was within spec...

When you spec you mean it was tight and you couldnt move the bolt at all without the engine turning , thats a shame

yes it was Torque to the Specifications 324nm... have tried to mark the crank pully, and that dont move around...

can it be the oil, i am running on Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-40 Ester Fully Synthetic Engine Oil from http://www.opieoil.co.uk should i go after some 10w50 oil instaed???
