tintinmt
Is it possible to transfer seat bases and covers from one seat (leather) to a fabric covered one? I purchased some leather seats to replace my fabric ones but it transpires that the drivers seat frame is bent to the extent that it does not fit the car and I can't force it into place (I've tried!). My plan B is therefore to swap the leather covers from one seat base to another. Can this be done? How would it be done?
tintinmt
Updating my own post.... I found instructions for removing the seat base and also the head rest. Anyone have knowledge of the seat back removal?
ripped_fear
Just unzip the back and there are bolts in the side. Undo and slide the whole back off. Unless your trying to remove the fabric not the whole seat cushion in one
tintinmt
Thanks! That sounds good. I'm not trying to remove the cover itself.
tintinmt
All done! Easy when you know how. You could fairly easily swap seat bases and backs to even the wear on the seat edge and bolsters. The job is made significantly harder, as just one bolt for the seat base is hidden behind the plastic cover. If only they had left an access hole there!
