Jellybean
I heard you have to modify the block , bore out to a 10mm from OEM 8mm? Is this a big job to do in situ?
Mike2JZ
Could you find an adapter that will fit a 10mm sensor into 8mm hole?
Chris Wilson
You can just use an 8mm bolt and a washer, or make a stepped stud or a stepped bolt, with 8mm in the block and 10mm in the sensor if you are that fussy.

Garage was talking about boring out the block to 10mm , said it was tight in there , could take some time ; Wideband knock is just a nice to have though
Wez
I would not be boring out the block, loads fitted without the need to do this.
Nodalmighty
The factory Knock sensor is 12mm. Toyota themselves do a 12mm to 8mm step stud for the 2zz-GE engine. Bosch wide band knock sensor is 8mm bore.

Nodalmighty
Thanks , thats good news! Just for you : 90126-a0008 It's specially designed to nest up against the base of the blind hole for maximum transfer. NEVER use a washer with a Bosch Knock sensor. Tricky-Ricky
Yes as said the Bosch sensor needs direct contact with the block, no need for a different sized bolt/stud, as long as it locates and is tight it will be fine, fitted the same to my Supra, using KS-4 knock detector.
