berg
This is random but its been bugging me Once upon a time i had a stock ecu with a speedo converter which had one wire going to the pink wire on the ecu to remove the stock speed limiter I changed to a mines ecu which didnt need the wire connecting as it has the speed limiter removal built in Ive gone back to a stock ecu and haven't yet put the speed limiter wire back on but the car is not limited and keeps going Is there another way my car may have been de-limited that i don't know about? There are no little hks or similar boxes hiding anywhere and none of the ecu wiring is tampered with apart from the FCD
ben_harmer32
Is there one on the back of the dials?
stevie_b
I don't know what the behaviour is if the ECU doesn't see a speed signal on the pink wire at all (which is how you've got it at the moment?) My guess is that you won't be limited, but the ECU will generate a code 42 (speed sensor/signal error).
berg
Its a strange one i have no fault codes as i have checked that Before doing the manual conversion i did have the o/d and trac control lights flashing all the time but no codes They still flash now and have done since i got the car pretty much
supra_ufo
I thought mine had a limiter in but managed to reach 160 leptons one night on a private road. Then when testing my BC it only got to around 120/130. My speed delimiter is not plumbed in though.

Did you see the small engine light come on all the time (i.e. on and no flashing)? If the pink wire input is left unconnected (please confirm this is what you currently have), the ECU would surely log an error. The alternatives are 1) assume that the speed is low, so allow further acceleration, in which case no need for a delimiter device! or 2) assume that the speed is too high, in which case you wouldn't be able to accelerate from stationary at all. berg
Sorry i don't think worded it properly By not connected i mean the speed delimiter wire coming from the speedo converter thats not connected to the pink wire at the moment The pink wire on the ecu remains stock and was connected back together when the mines ecu was fitted previously Ive since gone back to stock ecu and the pink wire is still connected as it would have been stock as i havent yet connected the wire from my speedo converter So whats confusing me is the wiring is now as it was originally, with no delimiter connected yet, but the car is not limited Hope that makes sense
stevie_b
I see, yes that is confusing. I can't see any reason why there wouldn't be a speed limit on your car if the wiring around there is stock, with a stock ECU. Strange.
